Short description

N1GHTMARE is a free browser RPG that turns Japanese practice into a journey through shrines and a sleeping city. Answer kanji, vocabulary, grammar, and reading questions at estimated JLPT N5–N1 levels. Start as a guest and use optional Google sign-in for cloud saves.

The game

Create a character and begin at a lantern-lit shrine. Practice questions become encounters, with explanations after answers. Between runs, return to Kotohara to choose practice, visit the equipment shrine, view rankings, or open the social area.

The interface and explanations are in English, with Japanese learning content. Guest progress is stored in the current browser; cloud saves and explicit guest-character transfer are available through Google sign-in. Seasonal scenery, audio controls, and reduced-motion settings are part of the game.

The question collection is original beta practice with estimated difficulty. It is not an official JLPT product, a complete curriculum, or a substitute for an exam preparation course. No listening practice or exam-score prediction is offered.
