Terms of Use

1. About the service

N1GHTMARE is a Japanese learning game operated by Norman Yang. These terms apply to the website, solo adventures, cloud saves, rankings, and social features. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using it.

The game is an independent beta learning tool. Its questions are original practice material, not official Japanese-Language Proficiency Test questions. N1GHTMARE is not affiliated with or endorsed by the JLPT organizers and does not guarantee an exam result. Questions, explanations, and features may contain mistakes or change during development.

2. Your account and saves

You can play solo as a guest. Guest progress is stored in your browser; clearing site data, changing browsers, or losing access to the device can remove that progress. Google sign-in enables account features and cloud checkpoints where available.

Progress is saved at checkpoints, not after every answer. Unconfirmed progress may be lost if you close the page or a save fails. Follow the in-game save status before leaving. When transferring guest progress, review the destination carefully: replacing a character is not a merge of two adventures.

Keep your Google account secure and use only accounts you are authorized to use. If you need parental or guardian permission under the rules that apply to you, obtain it before creating an account or sharing personal information.

3. Fair play and community features

Use the service for lawful learning and play. Do not impersonate another person, use abusive names, harass other players, distribute malicious links, interfere with the service, bypass access controls, or fabricate progress to manipulate rankings. Do not use automated requests to overload the service or evade its limits.

Rankings are casual beta rankings, not proof of language proficiency or a competition with promised prizes. Your chosen public identity and eligible results can appear in rankings and social features. Share invitation links only with people you intend to invite; joining a friendship or Covenant requires acceptance in the app.

Access or public content may be restricted when necessary to address abuse, protect other players, or comply with applicable law. You can contact us about an error or concern.

4. Content and ownership

You may use N1GHTMARE and its learning materials for personal learning. Rights in original software, artwork, writing, and other game content belong to Norman Yang or their respective owners. Open-source software and third-party assets remain subject to their own licenses. Do not sell or redistribute material unless its license or the law permits it.

You retain rights in information you provide. You allow us to store and display it as needed for the features you use, such as your profile, character, and Covenant. Avoid putting private or sensitive information in public names.

5. Availability and your rights

We aim to keep the game useful and reliable, but do not promise uninterrupted access, error-free content, or permanent availability of every beta feature. Maintenance, updates, browser limitations, and network failures may interrupt play or saving.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without additional warranties. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Privacy, changes, and contact

The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled. These terms may be updated as the service changes; the date above identifies this version. Changes do not remove rights you already have under applicable law.
